Teasing is often part of growing up and almost every child experiences it but sometimes its hard for the child to talk about it Snippets can open the door to discussions of when they have felt bullied or left out There are thought provoking uestions at the end of the book to help promote this dialogue This story's approach to positive thinking for children will help them face difficult situations with confidence in themselves Deep down in his heart being divided felt wrong he just wanted to see all the shapes get along As he stood thinking an idea came to mind What if he went back and tried to be kind to that misguided suare with the perfect physiue He could show him the beauty of being uniue Building a better world All of us can relate to being left out or not feeling perfect However it is our sincere hope that the words and beautiful illustrations in Snippets will guide you through a process that will bring you hope and encouragement The book itself has a great message and is a really cute story Not only is it about accepting others who are different and working together to make extraordinary things but I plan to use it in my classroom as the start of our artist week and show the children all the scraps they “snip” can be put together to make a beautiful piece of workThe down side is the binding was already broken when I received the book This is not a book I can let the students use by themselves because it will fall apart
