Jane is sent to Africa to find the one link between the two cases the only survivor And convince her to face death once againOUT NOW the gripping new thriller from Tess Gerritsen THE SHAPE OF NIGHT Actually the last couple have been out of sync I'm really tired of Maura whining about her evil mom and supposed genetic darkness and Jane's mother needs to just be hit with a bus Sorry but both situations are irritating and monotonous Plus the entire premise of this book was weak as was the investigating When a body isnt recovered mystery readers wonder and any eay solution cant or shouldn't be the right one but neither should it be ridiculously convoluted and forced Gerritsen can make the prose flow so even though it is nowhere nearly as strong as previous entries in the series it is much readable than much that is published I think the author would do well to remember though that the books were so good they spawned a series not the other way around Books need depth need to hold together even when you flip back and a good mystery with a strong plot and real characters doesnt need to be a soap opera

Jane is sent to Africa to find the one link between the two cases the only survivor And convince her to face death once againOUT NOW the gripping new thriller from Tess Gerritsen THE SHAPE OF NIGHT Probably one of the best books I have read this year The story starts in Africa and moves to Boston alternating between the two locations Other reviewers have covered the storyline well so I won't repeat that suffice to say that Rizzoli and Isles don't dominate the storyline as much in this book as others The murder of a taxidermist sets in motion an investigation that isn't cliche and come with twists and turns that a seasoned reader would not expect The prose is excellent painting an image that doesn't leave the imagination easily As the story developed I was gripped and struggled to put the book down Not just a holiday book probably one of the best books this year and a credit to Tess Gerritsen who could so easily sell multiple copies of this book with less effort
